One of the most common questions we hear at Marquees for All Occasions is just how far in advance you should book a marquee in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The answer depends on the time of year, the size and type of marquee you want and how flexible your event dates are.

Peak Season Booking Times

In Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, the busiest time for marquee hire runs from late spring through the summer into early autumn. Many couples choose summer dates for outdoor weddings, and community events and festivals often take place over warmer months too, even back to back.

For weddings and larger events in the peak season, it is best to start the booking process around 12 to 18 months before your event date. Popular weekends can book out quickly, especially if you want a specific marquee style or additional features such as dance floors, lighting or heating.

For midsize events in the summer, booking around nine to 12 months in advance gives you a good balance between choice and flexibility. This timeframe allows you to confirm venue details, arrange suppliers and avoid last-minute price increases.

Off Peak Booking Times

Events outside the summer season provide more flexibility. Autumn and winter events often have more availability and you may be able to secure a marquee with six to nine months notice. Spring events also benefit from early planning, but because this season is becoming increasingly popular, planning around nine months ahead of time is still sensible.
