Over the past twenty years we have assembled Marquees all over the UK, from breathtaking country weddings to incredible festivals to country shows we’ve covered 1000’s of fantastic events and some stand out vividly, to showcase the transformation a Marquee can take and the variety of events they can cover we have compiled five of our stand out events we’ve had the pleasure of doing.
One: BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Academy
Trace back to 2017 and the BBC’s Radio 1 Big Weekend is announced to come to Burton Constable just outside of Hull, covering some truly huge musicians with the likes of Little Mix and Shawn Mendes just scratching the surface.
We have the privilege of supporting not only with Marquees for the event but also building up with the Big Weekend’s Academy that brings live radio broadcasts, live performances and more building up to the event. We love how they transformed our Marquee into an intimate singing studio.
Two: Rix at Driffield Show
Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds Driffield is a quaint market town and an agricultural hotspot, one of it’s largest events on the calendar is the annual Driffield Show renowned for bringing some of the UK’s biggest players in agriculture, but also some of East Yorkshire’s well known companies like Rix.
They knew they had to make their Marquee pop to draw the attention away from the goliath combine harvesters and humongous tractors, collaborating with us on getting the layout right helped their stand draw in the crowd and look the part.
Three: Hull Fashion Week
Hull’s city centre is a regular hive of activity, you can be sure to stumble across a different event most weekends through the summer. One such event was the Fashion Week organised near the beautiful city hall to showcase the incredible local talent in the world of fashion.
Not doing things by half measures this Fashion Week had to be the real deal, as such, a full stage catwalk had to slot inside the Marquee on a stage to showcase Hull’s homegrown fashion talent in true style, it was a fantastic event to be a part of with a ram jammed tent on the day.
Four: Humber Street Sesh
A culmination of live music stages, incredible street food, art and so much more, Humber Street Sesh is one of Hull’s biggest events of the year which we regularly help bring together. Roads are closed and the city comes together for an afternoon of good music, food and fun in the middle of summer.
It’s consistently fully booked out and for good reason, this particular Street Sesh parked itself on the picturesque marina spanning over to the magnificent Deep and running through the restored old Fruit Market bringing Hull’s rich heritage to life in a vibrant celebration.
Five: A Beautiful Venue To Celebrate a Big Day
It wouldn’t be a complete list without a Wedding Marquee to wrap it up. We’ve seen hundreds of breathtaking weddings come together under our Marquees, this one stands out as it was nested at the end of a lake on the beautiful grounds of Burton Constable, also where BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend was held.
We loved the simple beauty of how the whole theme came together inside this Marquee showcasing how on many occasions, less can be more.
